"Currentyears"

What's supposed to be in the "currentyears" parameter? What is that supposed to mean? Why not just "years"? Propaniac (talk) 01:56, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

Historically, there was some distinction made between the current and prior teammates and clubs. That particular section is a bit of a mess, in my opinion. How about if we just merge these two sections, and let the date span speak for itself? Plastikspork _―Œ^(talk) 21:25, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

Oh, I see now that it was intended to be the number of years with the current teammate. As I have no knowledge of professional volleyball or experience working with such articles, I'll leave it to you to determine if changes should be made (although your suggestion to let the date span speak for itself does make sense to me); I just noticed the "currentyears" parameter while I was cleaning up articles that incorrectly used the {{currentyear}} template, and at the time I was confused by the apparent paradox of "current years." What goes where

Years

Some volleyball players are indoor and beach volleyball players. The years input is for both volleyball teams (see data30) as beach volleyball teammates (see data19 / data 21). As example see Mathijs Mast. This should be changed!! Sander.v.Ginkel ^(Talk) 08:30, 19 January 2016 (UTC)

unfortunately the only way to fix this is to deprecate/remove the 'years' parameter for indoor. I added some tracking and removed the legacy code, but we will probably need a bot to fix them all. Frietjes (talk) 17:04, 31 January 2016 (UTC)

The suggestion is easy to find a solution. Just change the value of the "Previous teammates" header: {{#if:{{{teammates|}}}|Previous teammates}} → {{#if:{{{currentteammate|{{{result|}}}}}}|Previous teammates}}. Adding a "position" field for beach volleyball players

Currently, the "position" field only shows up under the "Indoor volleyball information" header. Can a similar "position" field be added that would appear under the "Beach volleyball information" header for beach volleyball players? i.e. Whether the beach volleyball player is a blocker or defender or split-blocker. Can we adjust the space in National team?

When you type national years and team into player profile, the country flag and name are not right under the words "National team". It doesn't align with centre. This profile is as an example Yukiko Ebata. It's great that the country flag and name can just right under "National team" and be central. Ojvolleyball (talk) 14:59, 19 October 2022 (UTC)

Coach team fields

Could someone edit the infobox so that the coaching years and teams are separate like the player teams (team1, years1). Having a singular field for just the coaching years and teams just messes the layout especially if the team names are sufficiently long. Hariboneagle927 (talk) 10:21, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
