Biographical fields

edit

I think that this template would benefit from some of the other biographical fields found on {{Infobox Person}}, such as birth and death dates, nationality, etc. Andy Mabbett | Talk to Andy Mabbett 21:39, 20 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. I'm going to start by adding birth dates as for some reason I'm often curious about the age of each player. Gary King (talk) 05:59, 20 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
On second thought, someone needs to convert this template to {{Infobox}} before any serious work can be done to it. Gary King (talk) 06:00, 20 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Done for birth and death dates. Gary King (talk) 21:38, 23 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Another thing that would be nice to see added is each players up-to-date All Time Money List Ranking (If apllicable). I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who's interested in this, but it seems like I'm the first to mention it. It's not a big deal whether or not it happens, but I can assure you it'd be a welcome change and it will help everyone using this site to track their favorite players' career and overall ranking. Think of it as adding #1 player to Tiger Woods' bio. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.65.141.127 (talk) 07:13, 15 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Wouldn't this fluctuate a lot though? Especially among players who are not as high up on the list; for instance, if someone has $100,000 in careers winnings, then their position can change significantly over just a month or two. Someone who's #1 or #2 on the list will most likely hold the position for longer periods of time, though. Gary King (talk) 20:03, 15 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
It would fluctuate every day, and it is not an accurate number anyway. This definitely should not be added. 2005 (talk) 21:42, 15 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Numbers being entered in World Poker Tour portions

edit

I'm seeing (Jennifer Tilly, Gus Hanson) that some editors are labeling the World Poker Tour finishes with things like 6 (+3). What does that even mean? -- 3 Good 1 Comment (talk) 06:03, 6 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

It denotes that the event shown on the World Poker Tour wasn't an open championship event but rather an invitational and/or closed event, Tilly won the WPT Ladies Night No Limit Hold'em event but it was an invitational where unlike normal WPT Championship events that have several hundreds of players that buy-in with their own money play down to a television final table of six players instead only six players are invited to a freeroll where only the winner is paid, in the WPT Ladies Night event Tilly won a prize worth $25,000 and 2nd-6th took nothing see the results here on the other hand she won a WSOP bracelet in the $1,000 buy-in Ladies Only event which is an open event (but only to Women) it was played in a field of 601 entries in which she earned $158,335 for first. see the results here.▪◦▪≡SiREX≡Talk 06:36, 6 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Website field

edit

Can someone add a website field.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 00:42, 5 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Why? It's duplicate clutter. 2005 (talk) 02:53, 5 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hometown

edit

Can someone fix the hometown field to accept an entry like Miami Beach, Florida/Las Vegas, Nevada.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 00:45, 5 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I disabled autolinking the hometown field as it is too restrictive. Go ahead and do the linking in the specific article now. Gary King (talk) 16:20, 6 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

It looks about the same, but with less information. Gary King (talk · scripts) 23:41, 10 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
