Requested move 17 March 2015 edit

The following is a closed discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the proposal was no consensus. Titles for templates don't matter as much as those for articles. There would be nothing wrong with establishing these alternate forms as redirects. --BDD (talk) 15:55, 11 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Template:Infobox legislative sessionTemplate:Infobox legislative term – This infobox is more often that not used to summarise legislative terms, i.e. the period between elections; see Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Infobox legislative session. A session is the period between breaks within a term. Alakzi (talk) 20:24, 17 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose: first, this proposal is very badly worded which makes it difficult to understand; I would recommend that the proposer rewords their explanation. Second, the current title is more than adequate and allows for a greater use without any problems (that is for the full life of a Parliament or for just a session). Third, 'legislative term' isn't a phrase I am familiar with and doesn't seem to be grammatically correct, while you can have a 'legislative session' (that is, a session in which one legislates) I am not sure that 'legislative term' makes sense as there is (usually) more than one session during a term which in many systems ends the legislative process. Using 'legislative term' suggests that all bills introduced at the beginning of the term would be alive throughout the whole term, which is incorrect. The slightly different phrasing: 'legislature term' would make sense grammatically, however this sounds awkward and again doesn't add any real benefit so it seems most sensible to retain the current title. • first, this proposal is very badly worded What part would you like me to clarify? Second, the current title ... allows for a greater use The title wouldn't hinder the use of this template; the aim is to pick one that best reflects its current use. Third, 'legislative term' isn't a phrase I am familiar with and doesn't seem to be grammatically correct "Legislative term" makes perfect sense grammatically; it doesn't very much make sense semantically, as you've rightly pointed out. I would support "legislature term". Alakzi (talk) 19:39, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
    • Google finds 119,000 hist for 'legislative term'; there are over 150 hits for the term in artciles on this Wikipedia alone. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 20:03, 19 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • As "legislature term" appears to be very rare, when compared with "legislative term", I'm reinstating the original proposal. If I'd put my brain to work for half a second, I'd have remembered that legislative describes both legislatures (as in "legislative elections") and legislation (as in "legislative amendment"). • Support as first proposed. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:06, 19 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Native name edit

Hi. Could someone please add a native_name entry in the infobox? (Similar to what happens in Template:Infobox legislature) Thanks, Yakme (talk) 00:13, 17 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
