Some questions

Since this template has not been used before, I thought I'd ask some questions:

- What kind of picture would be wanted in the table?

- By first publication do 19th century European "comics" count? (No balloons, text under the picture.)

- titles, artists, character, series: should present day examples be included?

- Maybe we could include some statistics: average print number, number of comic book publishers, etc., or most popular title. Zoli79 (talk) 20:29, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

In general terms?

• Images - I'm not 100% certain that there is going to be a consistent "type" to use. That's part of the reason that the template defaults to none instead of the "Image needed" state that most of the other comics infobox templates uses. There's also the issue that multiple images can be used to illustrate a country or regions comics as they evolved. It may be that with most of the articles some sort of case by case consensus is going to need to be hit.
• Date - It depends on how the article is presenting the topic. If the article is covering back to a period in the 1800s, then that's the date or date rage to use. By way of example, Belgian comics includes a start point of "the second half of the 1920s", so "latter 1920s on" is used in the infobox.
• The 5 notables - "Notable" is the operative word. If there are current notable examples, then they are fair game. Again, it is likely that there is going to need to be a case by case discussion about weeding down to 5 examples for each.
• Stats - I'm not sure that's a sound idea. First, most of the articles ignore numbers. Second, numbers change over time so it would become a question of when the numbers are pulled from. And third, if the "when" is side stepped by going for "currently", it becomes something that needs to be constantly updated.
