- This is ibdb, not iMdb. And Template:Imdb name already had this cat. Seems reasonable to me. But cats are added to templates via their documentation page - and that isn't protected. So, I have added it, with this edit (sorry about the edit summary fail). Chzz ► 06:19, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

The purpose of this edit is to provide increased privacy and security for users by having the template use an HTTPS URL when generating a link to an IBDB page. At the current time, the template generates an HTTP link. The IBDB site appears to support HTTPS; for example, the URL http://ibdb.com/person.php?id=55157 generates a series of three 301 Moved Permanently redirects that lead to https://www.ibdb.com/Person/View/55157. In the template, please change http://ibdb.com/person.php?id= to https://www.ibdb.com/Person/View/ instead. Thanks. --Elegie (talk) 11:42, 29 June 2017 (UTC)
Linking error edit
Currently, this template creates an incorrect external link. For example, at Arielle Tepper Madover {{IBDB name}} links to https://www.ibdb.com/Person/View/21183,, which is a dead link because of the comma at the end, when it really should link to https://www.ibdb.com/Person/View/21183.
