List of successful transwiki ports
editThe Transwiki guide could be improved with a list of known successful transwiki ports. That is, it would be nice if anyone who successfully ports {{Convert}} to another wiki (preferably visible to the public) would make an entry on the Transwiki guide page with a link to their porting notes, if any. This could give other users some examples to work from. --Teratornis (talk) 18:36, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
- That would have been so, so helpful.... A loose noose (talk)
White space before name parameters (unit name)
editHi. I'm translating this module to Chinese Wikipedia. The current hurdle is that in Chinese writing, there should not be any white space to separate the numeral from any Chinese character or punctuation. I can't figure out how to remove this white space without touching the values of sep1/sep2 (related or not?) because the white space is still needed to separate between the number and the Western alphabetic symbol (abbr=on). Thanks for help. -- Sameboat - 同舟 (talk) 05:21, 24 April 2014 (UTC)
- I'll think of something, but it's probably better if I also help with other work that will be required. I like to keep related discussions in one place so I can find it later. Please respond at zh:User:Johnuniq/translate. Johnuniq (talk) 06:55, 24 April 2014 (UTC)
Basque Wikipedia
editSo here I am (As suggested on my talk page). I'm interested in translating this module, of course. I will try to do my best in our Wikipedia! -Theklan (talk) 08:16, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
- I replied at your eu talk; see eu:User:Johnuniq/translate. Johnuniq (talk) 09:58, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
Transwiki use
editHi, I am trying to create the convert template for my own wiki, and am having no luck. I created the necessary pages (template:convert, module:convert, and module:convert\data) and copied and pasted the text into each, but it looks like the two module pages have some special code that sets them up as lua pages of some kind, and I am unsure how to mark the corresponding pages in my own wiki similarly. Is there some trick to "saving" a module page as a lua module? A loose noose (talk) 07:04, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- Have you ever successfully used a module at your wiki? If not, you need help to setup and configure mw:Extension:Scribunto. If that documentation doesn't help, you might try WP:VPT. Johnuniq (talk) 08:21, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
