WC 2014

edit

Why not mention the current WC yet? They did get into that tournament, regardless of the position they will achieve, so it's not wrong information. The table header says "Major tournaments",.. well they are in it! It's simply worth mentioning that Marc Wilmots has gotten the Belgian team into this tournament, the results can be added later. Well, ok. My point was: imagine he gets sick or somehow has to stay home before the first match and Borkelmans takes over during the tournament. But you are right, the World Cup itself is already 'his' achievement. Kareldorado (talk) 16:14, 8 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Table header

edit

I noticed in the history that the red background was removed due to the sort-arrows disappearing. This was due to "background: #e62020" overwriting the arrow-image, which is set as "background-image" in the css. It can be fixed by using "background-color" rather than just "background": then it lives 'next to' the background-image, rather than overwriting it.

However, the table header has gotten twice as 'high' as it used to be. It would look nicer if we could somehow fit it into just one row again.

Especially those two (relatively) new columns on the right are quite big. I suggest a change in layout, and instead of explaining, here it is (example):

Manager Tenure Pld W D* L Win % Pts/G[A] Major tournaments**
  Raymond Goethals 1968–76 44 25 8 11 56.82 1.89 WC 1970 - Group Stage
EC 1972 - Third Place
  WC 1974, EC 1976, WC 1978

Great suggestions, always good to have someone who is into webdesign! Kareldorado (talk) 07:51, 27 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Nationality

edit

I was considering to move the nationalities in front of the managers, but then saw that this used to be the case :) (before 7 June)

What was the reason to split up manager name and nationality? I think it's more consistent with other views to have the nationality in front of rather than after the name. (And personally I would just add 'Belgium' for those selection committees, or were they not in fact Belgian?)

If a sorting issue was the reason to split it up, it may be possible to solve that another way. (I don't think it's that critical to be able to sort by nationality or by manager name, though; it's more useful to sort by statistics or date) Sygmoral (talk) 13:43, 19 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
