Template:Figure skating competitive highlights/doc

This template is an easier alternative to create tables for the competitive highlights of figure skater biographies, and it satisfies the latest accessibility criteria for data tables. It can be used to list the competition placements for a single skater, pair, or dance team. For the different events, use the template {{FS placements}}.

Currently, a maximum of 15 seasons and 35 events can be added per table. It is possible to add the competition level (senior, junior, etc.) to single results as well as the individual placement at team events. If you notice any bugs or have suggestions for additional parameters, please share them on the template's talk page.

Annotations and parameters edit

Table captions
It is possible to select from the following caption formats:

  • Default setting: Competition placements since the XXXX–XX season
  • |until=yes: Competition placements until the YYYY–YY season
  • |between=yes: Competition placements between the XXXX–XX and YYYY–YY season
  • |level=: Competition placements at [ insert ] level
(Example: |level=junior and novice: Competition placements at junior and novice level)

Global table parameters

  • For referencing the full table with one bundled inline citation, use the parameter |ref=. A suitable source is the skater's or team's official ISU competition results page or the data page on SkatingScores.com.
  • For the seasons, use the format "YYYY–YY" with an en dash (example: 2010–11). Seasons where the skater or team has not competed at any national or international events should be skipped to keep the table at reasonable size.

Parameters for single events

  • To add an event to the table, use the {{FS placements}} template. Insert the number of spanned table columns first, then the name of the event. If the name is longer than "World Team Trophy", a shortened form with a piped link shall be used (see examples below).
  • For the placement in season x, use the parameter |px= (example: |p3=1st gives a first place in season 3). To indicate a
  • withdrawal from the event, set |px=WD
  • cancellation of the event, set |px=C
  • assignment to the event, set |px=TBD
  • pewter medal at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, add |pewterx=yes after the respective placement.
  • For the competition level, use the parameter |lvx= with "J" for junior, "N" for novice, "I" for intermediate, and "V" for juvenile level (example: |lv3=J). Default level is senior, so it is not required to add an S in that case.
  • For the individual placement in a team event, use the parameter |tx=.
  • Warning: do NOT add the level or team event result to the placement parameter. It will mess up the medal coloring.
