  • Overall: Hook looks alright, and, based on the timing of the DYK, article has been added at the correct time. No copyright violations. However, the article needs to have a few references fixed and some statements in the article confirmed.
Comprehensive review:
Hello! First off, this is my first DYK review, so if I make some errors, let me know. I've done my best to follow the guidelines, but I may slip.
Anyway, when I first saw the article title, I was expecting something like electric football or a video game. I was pleasantly surprised to see it be about actual football games. It looked interesting to me; it would be shame if it became a fly-by-night venture.

Here's my review of what I saw:

1. Hooks: The first hook accidentally capitalizes "Interactive"; not a problem in the second. I like the first wording better, although neither version of the hook is terribly flashy to me. However, functional works just as well as flashy. Consider it a go, once that one word is made lowercase.
2. Blurb: There's no mention the smartphone app in the main article, as far as I can tell. I do see a mobile phone reference in the article itself, but nothing to do with an app. Worry about fixing that in the main article space. Another issue is that it says the company was launched in 2013 but it mentions 2012 in the main article itself. See the main article review for what to do from there.
3. Founding and development: Colony is mentioned in the source, and he did indeed have that idea. It's not mentioned in the source, however, that he founded the company. There is a secondary source at Press Reader that I found on Google that does confirm this...I can mention it in a response if you can't find it. After that, however, I can't find any of the information in the source. This includes the definitive mention of the year of its founding. There are trademarks online for Your Call being part of FFLShield that mention 2014 as when it was created as well. There's also no mention of the company being a parent of two other companies. Overall, once the year is mentioned, it can either link with the year in the blurb or lead to the blurb's year being fixed.
4. Rules: Mentioned in source through pictures. I have my doubts that Barstool Sports is the most reliable site but I'll accept it.
5. Participant interaction and scoring: Everything checks out. That said, this is probably where you'll need to mention the smartphone app from the opening blurb. It sounds like you can call plays without the app from the way I'm reading it.
6. 2018 series: You should reference the scores. On that note, the USA Today reference says there was a 15-14 game, so I don't know what's correct. Everything else is verified.
7. Future series: Looks good to me.
8. Notable players: Tommy Streeter's participation isn't referenced. I can find proof online that he was part of YCF, but none of those sources mention his Super Bowl ring. If you use a primary source for Streeter, you'll need to link an article mentioning his ring as well. The other stuff is mentioned in links.

  • That's fair. If primary sources are allowed, the YCF site does mention the rules here; I think Barstool Sports used their site to take pictures of the rules.
