Yellow Sand Society edit

  • ... that the Yellow Sand Society believed that it would be spared in the coming armageddon by fighting for a self-proclaimed Emperor of China? (Source: Perry, Elizabeth J. (1980). Rebels and Revolutionaries in North China, 1845-1945. Stanford, California: Stanford University Press, p. 159.)

  • This article is new enough and long enough. The hook facts are cited inline and either hook could be used, although I prefer ALT1. The article is neutral and I detected no copyright issues. QPQ has been done. As an afterthought, I find the society's name intriguing in itself, and you could have a hook along the lines of "that members of the Yellow Sand Society believed they could become immune to bullets through "magic and incantations"" without giving any indication of what the Yellow Sand Society referred to. • Hi, I came by to promote this, but I agree with Cwmhiraeth that more could be done with the hook. Either try a play on the name, or even that catchy slogan "Oppose the Qing; restore the Ming" could be used. Yoninah (talk) 21:08, 26 May 2018 (UTC)
  • @Yoninah: Sorry that I only answer now; I had a lot to do during the last few days. I agree that Cwmhiraeth's proposal is good, so I added it as ALT2. Sadly, we can't use the slogan, as it is not confirmed that the Yellow Sands used exactly these words - We only know that they supported the Ming, and that "most" societies used the slogan. • OK. But the source and article say "gunfire", so I tweaked the hook. ALT2 hook ref verified and cited inline. Rest of review per Cwmhiraeth. ALT2 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 23:09, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
  • Tweaked hook order. Yoninah (talk) 23:11, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
