Wombat Divine

edit

Created/expanded by Gatoclass (talk). Self-nominated at 12:31, 21 December 2017 (UTC).

  • Article was just created today and meets the length requirements. The article is well-written and features a decent amount of coverage about the book. The article is stable, and the image is allowed per fair use. While Earwigs gives a score of 29.1%, it seems to be limited to quotes and thus this isn't a problem. The article itself is fine and ready for DYK; however, a QPQ is needed. Unfortunately the hook proposed is unacceptable; hooks about works of fiction can only be on facts about the work of fiction in relation to the real world (see WP:DYK for details). How about, for example:
ALT1: ... that the children's book Wombat Divine was written because the author's publisher requested "a typically Australian Christmas story"?
As I rejected the proposed hook and suggested my own, a new reviewer is needed for the hook. Per the creator's request, a reviewer should be found as soon as possible, and if article is approved, that the hook go up around Christmas Day. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:04, 21 December 2017 (UTC)
Thank you Narutolovehinata5. You are correct about said DYK rule, however that is a rule that is honoured in the breach as much as the observance these days and I felt that this would be an appropriate application of WP:IAR because of the importance of getting the Christmas theme mentioned in the hook (my apologies, I intended to add a note stating as much when nominating but it slipped my mind). However, your ALT hook also covers the Christmas theme so it is fine by me. I will add a QPQ momentarily. Regards, Gatoclass (talk) 13:16, 21 December 2017 (UTC)
QPQ added. Gatoclass (talk) 13:24, 21 December 2017 (UTC)
  • Besides newness and length, the article is neutrally written, well referenced, and has no close paraphrasing. I added "children's" to the hook. ALT1 hook ref verified and cited inline. Image in article is freely licensed. QPQ done. It sounds like a lovely book, and is all ready for Christmas Day. Yoninah (talk) 23:24, 21 December 2017 (UTC)
