The painting is lovely, but I'm curious why you don't want to use the polar bear sketch, since it's in the article. — Maile (talk) 18:43, 5 December 2013 (UTC)

Do have a go at a hook @Maille66 - I was a bit worried that people might assume that this was the picture used in the xmas card - and my reading of the source implies this might be the case but it doesn't make this 100% clear. I agree that the sketch used as a Christmas card by the Society must have been a different one as it's described in the cited source as containing polar bears (plural), i.e. ('a charming pen and wash study of polar bears, an image which the Society has used in the past on its Christmas cards'). That being the case, the article is good to go with the original hook as it's new, long enough, has inline citations throughout, image is free. Offline source for hook AGF. The heading under a picture says that the expedition was in 1893, but 1892 is used elsewhere. Which is right? Thanks, Mat ty.007 18:09, 22 December 2013 (UTC)

Good catch! I clicked on the image from Wikipedia Commons, and it says it's from the expedition of 1892. The '1893' under the picture must have been the nominator's typo; rather than post a message on his Talk page I just fixed it myself. NinaGreen (talk) 23:41, 22 December 2013 (UTC)
