Tugelbay Sydykbekov edit

Tugelbay Sydykbekov, c. 1985
Tugelbay Sydykbekov, c. 1985
  • ... that Kyrgyzstani author Tugelbay Sydykbekov won the Stalin Prize in 1949 for the novel People of our time, which simultaneously embraced Soviet-style communism and traditional culture including Islam? Source: [1])

  • None of your sources, especially not the one you quote at that point, seems to mention the death date "19 July 1997". Where does it come from? Also, in what place did he die? Thank you, Edelseider (talk) 11:20, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
  • Edelseider, a colleague from Kazachstan added that there; I moved it a bit (when that source was published our subject was still alive). I got the dates from the KY-wiki, but it's actually verified in note 2: the very first entry ("СЫДЫКБЕКОВ Тугелбай") is our subject. Thanks! Drmies (talk) 20:40, 5 May 2019 (UTC)
  • Drmies Thank you, but that source only says that he got that award in 1997, and does not indicate his date (and place) of death. Kyrgiz wiki has a lot of external links so maybe a proper source can be found there? I find your article interesting, but what is also bothering me is that the fact that he won the Stalin Prize in 1949 is not mentioned in the source Kirgistan und die sowjetische Moderne 1941-1991 that you primarily rely upon; since the pages 74 and 75 cannot be consulted, I suppose that it is written there, but I cannot materially read the words to that effect. That's a bit annoying. Edelseider (talk) 06:47, 6 May 2019 (UTC)
  • Apparently, my browser didn't allow me to see the page properly, my apologies. Edelseider (talk) 12:58, 6 May 2019 (UTC)
  • So Edelseider, are we good? P. 74: "Zudem wurde ihm zwei Jahre spater ausgerechnet fur "Menschen unserer Zeit" der Stalin-Preis Dritter Klasse verliehen". Thanks, Drmies (talk) 15:17, 6 May 2019 (UTC)
  • . All criteria fulfilled (new enough at the date of the nomination, long enough, adequate hook, no language problems, sources verified. Edelseider (talk) 18:14, 6 May 2019 (UTC)
