  • Too many facts crammed into one hook detract from the interesting part. I would change to

  • Muboshgu, have you decided whether you want to go with the ALT1 hook proposed by Rjanag, or stick with your original hook? Both are valid from a length and content perspective. It probably makes sense to decide now rather than later, to prevent a delay in selecting this entry for publication when the time comes. To my mind, it's whether Hammerstein/Kern would attract more eyes by being there than their presence would obscure the 1934/2011 gap. Also, for both versions: perhaps replace "make its American debut" with "debut in America", which decreases the length by seven characters. BlueMoonset (talk) 23:28, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
  • I'm actually not sure whether or not the hook should include Hammerstein and Kern or not. On the one hand, it's simpler without them. On the other hand, we are talking about a musical by two of the biggest names in musicals, so I think it should stay in. I'd leave the final decision to whoever closes this, though. I slightly rewrote the hook per your suggestion that decreased the characters by seven, and took out the month so the issue of November vs. December is moot. – Muboshgu (talk) 01:01, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
  • Good idea to take out November; what's important is the year (and the 77 years between productions). I edited the other hook so it matches your new phrasing and details. Now for the DYK closer to come by... BlueMoonset (talk) 02:23, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
  • Article is classified as a stub and only has half the minimum 1500 character length: 783 characters "readable prose size" according to DYK check. The image is free, but is not used in the article, so cannot be used in the DYK. Note: I am admittedly a first time reviewer, but the instructions are unambiguous about these particular requirements. I'm also unsure about QPQ: there are four separate nominations by Muboshgu on the DYK nominations page, though it isn't relevant with the article too short.
I was unable to access the two New York Times citations to check them. The information at the one link I could access seems promising, though there is more information that can be mined here, and sources are available elsewhere. One correction should be made, if the article is expanded: while it was the shortest run at Drury Lane at the time, there's no evidence in the source that all other shows after it ran longer than it did. I did disambiguate "musical" in the original hook, in case it ends up being used. BlueMoonset (talk) 15:23, 9 December 2011 (UTC)

  • After article expansion and reclassification, the article is over 1500 characters and meets the minimum size requirements, and is no longer a stub. The information in the DYK hook, both in original and ALT1 versions, appear in and are cited in the article. The two subscription-only links are not germane to the hook. The only oddity is on the part of the 42nd Street Moon theater, which gives the US production's dates as November 30 through December 18 (including most graphical displays), but also states on its web page that Opening Night is (was) on December 3. I'm not sure what should be done about that, if anything, but it potentially affects the article and the hook. Can another reviewer with more experience take a look? Thanks.
