Suicide of Randy Potter edit

  • ... that it took authorities at Kansas City International Airport eight months to find Randy Potter's body in his parked truck despite recording all license plate numbers nightly? Source: "The company that operates the city-owned lots, SP+, is supposed to, according to its contract, inventory the license plates of all vehicles in the airport’s 25,000 parking spaces every night." Kansas City Star
    • ALT1:... that when Kansas City International Airport authorities found Randy Potter's body in his parked truck after eight months, readers told the local newspaper that other vehicles sat for months in the airport lots? Source: "James Densmore, 35, said he started noticing an Audi with a flat tire last winter ..." et seq., Kansas City Star
    • ALT2:... that eight months after he shot himself, the smell of Randy Potter's body led police to his truck at the Kansas City airport, even though they were supposed to be regularly checking for it? Same source as ALT1
    • ALT3: ... that although Randy Potter's wife believes he went to the Kansas City airport for his suicide so his body would be found quickly, it took eight months?"Carolina Potter believes her husband, Randy Potter, might have chosen to end his life at the airport because he knew his family would most likely look for him there." • New enough (created by Daniel Case on 26 October 2017), long enough (12,348 characters "readable prose size"), fully referenced. Main hook and ALT1, AL2 and ALT3 all fine, supported by online sources. Main hook preferred. QPQ done. Good to go. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 21:35, 2 November 2017 (UTC)
  • Hi, I came by to promote this. ALT0 is good, but it's way over 200 characters. Yoninah (talk) 20:50, 4 November 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, I wrote it with 220 in mind. The other hooks represent efforts to try to impart the same information in less characters. Let me see what I can do; it will be some time before I can get back to this (probably a few hours). Daniel Case (talk) 20:54, 4 November 2017 (UTC)
@Yoninah: OK, I've got it under 200 characters now. Daniel Case (talk) 05:48, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
@Yoninah: Well, the problem is that while they were contractually obligated to do that, we don't know yet whether they actually did, or whether they checked the plate numbers they had against any list of plate numbers of "vehicles of interest". So, to me, that presumes a little. Daniel Case (talk) 21:59, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
  • Thanks. Restoring tick for ALT0 per Hawkeye's review. Yoninah (talk) 11:34, 8 November 2017 (UTC)
