  • But note the date request Long enough, new enough, neutral, no copyvio, plagiarism or close paraphrasing, QPQ done. Both hooks supported, original is the more interesting of the two, but does imply a connection which can't be explained fully in the hook and isn't explicit in the article (or the judgement); prep-builder's choice (Ooooooooh, the pressure is on, prep-builder. And it's all on you; don't make a mistake. Nervous? Your reputation is on the line; don't let me put you off.) Belle (talk) 09:35, 16 July 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for noting the special date for the sake of prep builders.
  • I was looking to promote this, when I ran up against two issues: for ALT1, the source at the end of the "first year of international competition" sentence does not say anything about this being Maina's first year in international competition (and he's already been competing in Japan, so even if technically local, he's competing in a country other than his own), so I've struck it. The connection issue in the original hook is enough to keep me from promoting that one as well; I'd like to suggest an ALT hook:
The only change is adding "in 2007" to the hook; I also added a source already used later in the article that confirms Maina was fired in 2007, and a couple of words as well to peg the firing as occurring in 2007. Belle, can I ask you to check my addition and ALT2 hook, and give a new tick if you agree it works? Many thanks. There should be room for someone to put it into Prep 2—where it needs to go to run during European daytime on July 23—if you get to it soon. (If you think it would be better, please insert "corporate" before "team" in the ALT2 hook text for me, since that's also in the article sentence.) BlueMoonset (talk) 17:27, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
Yes, that is fine (I think the ALT1 hook is fine too by a process of elimination, but it isn't cited directly and obviously isn't clear so best not use it) Belle (talk) 17:38, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
