Shawna Robinson edit

  • ... that in 1988, Shawna Robinson became the first female racing driver to win a NASCAR-sanctioned race?
  • ALT1:... that Shawna Robinson became the first woman to finish in the top ten championship standings of a national American oval track auto racing series in 2000?

5x expanded by Z105space (talk). Self-nominated at 15:24, 4 May 2016 (UTC).

  • as far as I can tell this article has existed in the main space since 2005 and despite a large rewrite hasn't been expanded enough to be eligible. Am I missing something here? - Basement12 (T.C) 15:53, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
  • @Basement12: I have nominated this for GA. Would it be recommended that I renominated this in the event it passes GA? Z105space (talk) 16:07, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
  • @Z105space: I believe so. If I recall correctly, the rule for DYK nominations of Good Articles is to do so within the 5 days after the page has successfully become a GA, rather than during its GAN. NFLisAwesome (ZappaOMati) 16:28, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
  • @Z105space: I agree with that. The article isn't currently eligible and by the look of it the backlog at GAs means a quick review isn't likely, so best to withdraw this nomination and wait until it is passed - Basement12 (T.C) 21:49, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
  • Z105space, the rewrite was not quite sufficient to qualify as a 5x expansion initially—it was 3758 prose characters before the expansion began on May 4, and it was 18134 on May 10 when this was reviewed. A 5x expansion would be 18790 prose characters, and after subsequent edits the article is now 18772 prose characters, only 18 short of the 5x requirement. (While the article had been slightly larger than 3758 in the past, it was long enough before the current edits that we base the expansion on the previous edit, back in March.) Z105space, if you could add at least 18 more prose characters, which I imagine should be easy, the article will be eligible. (We always let people expand the article, if feasible, if they don't hit 5x at the time of nomination.) Thanks. Note that you could wait for the GA process to run its course and then nominate it (the deadline is seven days, not five, after approval), but that could take months; better to do this now. • This article is new enough and is now long enough. Going for the original hook as I am unable to verify ALT1. The hook is supported by a Los Angeles Times source which seems unambiguous. The article is neutral and I detected no copyright issues. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:39, 21 May 2016 (UTC)
  • Shall we save this hook for use on MainPage on June 10th, the anniversary of the victory mentioned in the hook? --PFHLai (talk) 01:50, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
  • @PFHLai: Yes, I would think it would be the most appropriate time to run the hook at the aforementioned date. Z105space (talk) 07:48, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
