  • Was very pleased when this article turned up the other day; I had intended to write it for years. It's such a high-quality article that I issued a Barnstar for this work. It's new, plenty long enough. Well referenced. No QPQ needed. Hook facts are referenced. Two one-sentence paragraphs were uncited; one I fixed myself and the other one needs the nominator's attention. The map in the lead, produced by the nominator, has an irritating spelling mistake. Earwig's Copyvio Detector isn't working but I'm familiar with many of the sources and couldn't spot anything of concern (could somebody please ping me when Earwig's tool is working again?). The hook could be made more interesting and I suggest ALT2 for consideration. Schwede66 19:10, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
  • I fixed the citation needed issue (also fixed a place where I had MEANT to put a citation, but forgot). As for the spelling error - it's "kilometers", isn't it? Should be "kilometres"? I tried to fix that by uploading a new version on Wikimedia, but it tells me it's an exact copy of the existing, even though I also included a caption for the Port Hills in the new version.   • Ugh, nevermind about the exact copy thing - I guess I double-clicked the upload button, and it told me the second upload was an exact copy. Anyway: "kilometres" is fixed, take a look. Riverhugger (talk) 19:55, 29 January 2020 (UTC)
  • I have another suggestion. Your ALT2 is good, but people outside the British Commonwealth (such as the USA where I live) don't necessarily know that "Crown" refers to the government. What if you say "government" instead? Riverhugger (talk) 21:50, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
  • Thanks! The irritating spelling mistake that I referred to (I had left a message on the talk page of the Commons item) is "Lyttleton" when it should be "Lyttelton". I'm happy with your suggested amendment for the hook and have recorded that as ALT3 below. Schwede66 09:17, 30 January 2020 (UTC)

  • Icing is always good. Earwig is willing to run and there's one sentence that ought to be reworded, as too much is verbatim from the source: "They noted that if homeowners do not accept the purchase offers, insurers may cancel or refuse to renew insurance policies, and the council and other utility providers might "reach the view that it is no longer feasible or practical to continue to maintain services to the remaining properties.”" Once that's done, it's all good to go.
