Interesting music, on few but good sources. I am sorry not to find in the source him being glad the live version was awarded, please help. I also think that both hooks just place live vs. studio, but miss mentioning the 30 years and the fusion of styles, so are more for readerrs who know the artist already. I like the quote "it's music that makes you want to dance with lyrics that make you think". Open to other hook suggestions, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:45, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
@Gerda Arendt: Sorry for the delayed reply. The source in question is this one:

"This was the real thing," states Gil. "I won the Grammy with a record representing what I am today, and that makes the prize more valid for me, to be recognized for what I really am. In fact, [it means] twice as much [than] if I had won with the studio version. A Brazilian journalist complained that the record was full of imperfections. And I said, "Yes, that's it. No tricks. That's me. Gilberto Gil today.'"

To be honest, I thought about putting the "it's music that makes you want to dance with lyrics that make you think" line in an alt hook, but I feel like that sort of quote exists for countless other albums, so I wanted to choose one specific to this one. Certainly could incorporate his career into it. Here's a try -- it's longer, but just under 200 chars:
ALT2: ... that Gilberto Gil said his Grammy Award for Quanta Live was particularly meaningful because the album, especially the live version, is a summary of his three decades in music?
