Review

I have made a series of copyedits which I don't consider sufficient to disqualify me as reviewer.
Article is new enough and long enough, and written in a policy-compliant manner.
Hook fact is sourced / cited, references formatted acceptably. I'm not wild about a couple of them, but I don't doubt they are correct.
Hook is interesting for those unaware of the tradition.
Earwig confirms not copyright issue, no plagiarism noticed.
QPQ was brief but covered required areas.
Image is on Commons with a free license, and is clear at the size for a DYK lead image.
