This article replaces a redirect and is long enough and new enough. The hook facts are cited inline, the article is neutral and I detected no policy issues. Now appears to meet DYK requirements, and was new enough at the time of nomination. My one suggestion is to revise the last sentence to better reflect the source content, to something along the lines of "The toxins eventually reach the Indus River where there is potential to impact millions of people". Ok looks good, sorry for the slow response. I still find some of the present/future verb tenses in the last paragraph awkward ("20,000 troops stationed[...]" vs. "The toxins will eventually[...]") for an encyclopedic entry, but I think this has more to do with my personal preference and shouldn't impact the DYK nom. The article creator having not edited recently, I have added some information and restored some content removed by WBoG. Can I suggest:-

The statement "Siachen Glacier the second longest non-polar glacier in the world" (in ALT 1 hook and article intro) is not sourced but merely has a footnote that looks like OR. It would be better to say "one of the longest mountain glaciers in the world", as per EB (ref. #1). -- P 1 9 9 ✉ 13:56, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
