  • I don't see two Rose Bowls. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 13:51, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
  • I've fixed it and added sourcing for the second Rose Bowl. Cbl62 (talk) 17:27, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
  • This doesn't say he was weak side, and neither this nor this support a Rose Bowl/Gator Bowl — Crisco 1492 (talk) 22:48, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
The team history sources here, here and here show that Jolly played all 35 of his games for Michigan at the "ws" cornerback position. Cornerbacks play either strong side or weak side. The "ws" designation means "weak side." The 1978 team history shows that the team played a total of 12 games including the Rose Bowl game with Jolly as the starting "ws cornerback" in all 12 games. The 1979 team history shows that the team played in a total of 12 games including the Gator Bowl with Jolly as the starting "ws cornerback" in all 12 games. Cbl62 (talk) 21:59, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
  • I noticed that weak side was ws (hence why I didn't make an issue of it). The team's 1977 history still doesn't mention a Gator Bowl/Rose Bowl. Also, come to think of it, what makes this a reliable source? — Crisco 1492 (talk) 22:26, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
  • The 1977 and 1978 team histories both make mention of a Rose Bowl here and here. The 1979 team history makes mention of the Gator Bowl here. Are we done now? Cbl62 (talk) 23:15, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
  • I've looked at the 1977 page three times already, and three times ctrl-F is not finding "Rose" or "Bowl". No, we're not done. If you want a third opinion, feel free, but right now the sources do not support the hook. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 23:17, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Sorry if my frustration is coming through. These things seem pretty clear to an American football fan, but I realize they many not be as clear to others. The 1977 team page references a game played against Washington on Jan. 1, which is the Rose Bowl. I've also added two additional newspaper articles verifying that the Jan. 1 game against Washington was the Rose Bowl game. Cbl62 (talk) 23:28, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
  • Everything looks peachy now, with the extra newspaper articles. I understand that sports (and other circles, even my haunting ground of Indonesia) use some terminology which is common knowledge within that circle, but I believe that we should make it explicit to non-(topic) fans as well. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 23:38, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
I agree, Crisco. Thanks for your patience with my impatience. Cbl62 (talk) 23:52, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
