Medingen Abbey
edit- ... that the nuns of Medingen Abbey (pictured) produced an astonishing wealth of illuminated manuscripts in which they expanded Latin liturgy with vernacular prayers, lay-songs and meditations for themselves and for local German noblewomen?
Created by Jenny.lemke (talk). Nominated by Bermicourt (talk) at 16:27, 5 June 2013 (UTC).
- For article: Date is good, length is good, within policy as far as I can tell. I fixed some grammar and word usage in the article, as well as cut down on excess word usage.
For hook: Interesting, but seems a little wordy. Also has unnecessary ellipsis after the word "that". I might suggest changing to:
... that the nuns of Medingen Abbey (pictured) produced a wealth of illuminated manuscripts in which they expanded Latin liturgy with vernacular prayers, lay-songs and meditations?
Or consider an alternative hook:
... that the Protestant Reformation was supposed to be introduced in Medingen Abbey (pictured) in 1524, but it was met with resistance from the nuns?
Overall, it seems completely acceptable as a DYK. I hope this has been at all helpful (this was my first DYK review so I hope I've done it correctly). Samuel Peoples (talk) 18:06, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
- Comment. I'm happy with either of the first two options.
- Question. Do we want to offer the image as well? --Bermicourt (talk) 19:32, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
- The image seems like a good one to me. I don't think it could hurt to include it. Samuel Peoples (talk) 05:31, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
- Forgot to include this little icon. The article and hook seem good to go. Samuel Peoples (talk) 09:33, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
