Mary Elizabeth Mohl edit

Self-portrait of Mary Mohl

  • ... that Florence Nightingale's Parisian friend "Clarkey" (self-portrait pictured) said that it was better to be a galley slave than a woman?

Interesting lady, good sources. The idea of the sourced hook is fine, but can you get "Long live the galleys!" in, as much more vivid? (Agree, hard in 200 chars.) The image is nice and free, but it seems not to be her complete work, - can that show in the caption? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:02, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
  • (ALT1: ... that if Florence Nightingale's friend "Clarkey" (pictured) had to choose between being a galley slave or a woman then she'd say "Long live the galleys!"?
I have devised a hook as you suggested @Gerda Arendt:, but I'm confused as to why you think this is not a self portrait. However i ve assumed you do have a reason to doubt it so I have removed that from the hook and article. Thanks for your support and the review. Victuallers (talk) 22:27, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
My turn to be confused, why would I think it's not a self portrait? - I only think it's not her complete work, why? Because the file name has "crop".
