I've rewritten and expanded much of the article, see also User talk:Valfontis#DYK. A minor quibble with the DYK hook, it is the first novel published on the U.S. west coast though it may not have been the first one written there (and yes I'll add that info and cite it). Considerable work and further expansion has been done on the article and I no longer have concerns on the wording. I suggest this alternative hook and leave someone else to review the article fully. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:09, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
