Main Ridge, Tobago edit

  • ... that Tobago's Main Ridge is one of the oldest protected areas in the world set aside with the a conservation goal, having been created by the British Parliament in 1776? Source: "The Tobago Main Ridge Forest Reserve is on record as the oldest legally protected forest reserve geared specifically towards a conservation purpose. It was established on April 13th, 1776 by an ordinance which states in part, that the reserve is "for the purpose of attracting frequent showers of rain upon which the fertility of lands in these climates doth entirely depend." The passage of the ordinance is attributed to Soame Jenyns, a member of the British parliament whose main responsibilities were trade and plantation." (UNESCO)

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: Yes
  • Interesting: Yes
  • Other problems: No - The hook reads rather awkwardly. It can condensed a bit by changing "set aside with the a conservation goal" to just "set aside for conservation". It also needs a link to the British Parliament, both in the hook and the article.
QPQ: Done.

Overall: Just waiting on the hook rewrite. SounderBruce 06:58, 14 March 2019 (UTC)
