Lemnis Gate

  • ... that Lemnis Gate, a game based around its online multiplayer component, maxed out at only 802 players on Steam? Source: "A quick look at the shooter's performance on SteamDB offers some insight behind the decision; peaking with just 802 concurrent players, the game seemingly never got off the ground, and currently struggles to attract more than half a dozen players at any one time." [1]
    • ALT1: ... that multiplayer game Lemnis Gate's server shutdown in July is part of a wave of online game shutdowns? Source: "Lemnis Gate is one of a wave of online and live service games that are closing down this year, following similar announcements for Apex Legends Mobile, Rumbleverse, Knockout City, CrossfireX, Crayta and Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai: A Hero's Bonds." [2]
    • ALT2: ... that the title of Lemnis Gate refers to lemniscate? Source: "Yes, the title is a play on the Latin word “Lemniscate,” which is a term for a looping mathematical figure." [3]

    • Comment: I think the hooks about the lack of players and the server closure are more interesting here (even though it makes me personally pretty sad because I really enjoyed playing this one). If needed, can make a hook about the timeloop genre stuff from the game too.

QPQ: Done.
Overall: All good. Very neat little article—I never heard of the game, but am already slightly sad it failed. Any of the hooks are fine, but my preference would actually lean towards ALT2, weirdly enough. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 11:18, 28 April 2023 (UTC)
