Adding icon to indicate that this is not currently approved: issues are that original hook's "first rival" was unsupported, and that the hook was said by EEng to be uninteresting because former employees becoming rivals in this industry is not particularly noteworthy or interesting. - Just to emphasize that I'm not some final approval decider, just a busybody editor who's contributing added scrutiny. My only real concern is the "final" aspect of the hook (see DYK talk) -- the point that former-employee rivalries are common was just a side comment, not a reason for pulling. But since it's come up there might be something a bit more attention-grabbing -- maybe something like

- Comment - From a fashion history perspective, the Quant factoid is quite snappy because so often Quant is presented as the be-all and end-all, the First Ever, the Mother of the Miniskirt (which she denies!), etc. Plus, it is supported in the obituary and in a few other interviews with industry insiders, etc - a number of people around in the 60s say Kiki was the second after Quant. With the greatest respect, I think the suggested third alternative is actually incredibly boring - I wouldn't click on it, and I'm a fashion history type, it just sounds like the sort of thing anyone would claim for any fashion designer. So I suggest:
