Karnes Hollow edit

  • ... that Karnes Hollow is named after a valley whose etymology is unknown?

Moved to mainspace by Jakec (talk). Self nominated at 14:24, 15 March 2015 (UTC).

  • Length, date, hook's ref verified. All non-lede paragraphs have refs; all refs appear to be RS. No apparent close paraphrasing issues. QPQ done. Good to go. --Rosiestep (talk) 02:12, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
  • With all the good work you're doing to expand Wikipedia's coverage of Pennsylvania tributaries, Jakec, I understand it's hard to come up with unique hooks. This one seems a little flat, though. I wish we could spice it up for us non-river aficionados, like:
  • ALT1: ... that you'll see colluvium and alluvium in Karnes Hollow?Yoninah (talk) 22:05, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
  • @Yoninah: ALT1 sounds good. I don't think it's any more remarkable that alt0, but I suppose it might sound more interesting to a layperson. @Rosiestep: Perhaps you could review ALT1 as well? --Jakob (talk) 22:42, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
  • Jakob: I like the original hook, but, no worries, if you'll add inline citations to the colluvium and alluvium sentences, and then ping me, I'll review for ALT1. --Rosiestep (talk) 01:16, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
  • @Rosiestep: I also personally like ALT0 and am not withdrawing it. I suppose we'll let the prep builder decide. Done, anyhow. --Jakob (talk) 20:36, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
  • More time gives me more perspective. I admit ALT1 is a little flippant. Perhaps this sourced sentence from the article would work better:
  • ALT2: ... that Karnes Hollow is an unnamed stream that takes the name of the valley through which it flows? Yoninah (talk) 21:29, 21 March 2015 (UTC)
  • There are thousands of those in PA; they aren't even particularly rare or remarkable. --Jakob (talk) 22:53, 21 March 2015 (UTC)
  • OK, I give up. Restoring tick for original hook per Rosiestep's review. Best, Yoninah (talk) 23:24, 21 March 2015 (UTC)
