Perhaps it needs to be explained what a GAA is? Could use full version of source using Wiki formatting. ThomDevexx ॐ (talk) 06:34, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
@HeyJude70: It's the same principle as using "F.C." for football clubs. We don't use the full title on DYK, for example we might use "Arsenal F.C." but not "Arsenal Football Club" in hooks. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "full version of source using wiki formatting" because all sources in the article are fully compliant with DYK rules? The C of E God Save the Queen! @The C of E: I didn't mean the use of GAA in the title, but further in the hook. For example, saying "...was the first British army Gaelic Athletic Association club..." to aid in reader understanding. Some may not know what GAA stands for, however this is only a suggestion. My apologies for the mark about referencing, that was a mistake on my behalf. - ThomDevexx ॐ (talk) 08:30, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
@HeyJude70: I see what you mean now. I have made the relevant changes now. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 08:36, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
@HeyJude70: Would you be able to add the tick now please? The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 10:23, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
Suitable, well-written, QPQ checks out. Ready for DYK. ThomDevexx ॐ (talk) 11:25, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
I was going to promote this, but find both of the hooks confusing, especially ALT1, and the article not very enlightening either. How about something like ALT2? Cwmhiraeth (talk) 09:07, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
  • ALT2:... that in 2015, the Irish Guards GAA (crest pictured) became the first British Army Gaelic games club to join the Gaelic Athletic Association?
  • Well I think the situation described in ALT1 is too complex for a hook, but perhaps someone else will disagree. Let's ask @The Rambling Man: what he thinks - he disagrees with me about most things! Cwmhiraeth (talk) 10:56, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
  • Very well, I had thought it more hooky to mention the ban on the British Army in it. I guess I'll have to ask @The Rambling Man: if he could promote it please as I assume that this makes @Cwmhiraeth: unable to promote herself now? The Royal C (talk) 14:56, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
  • Well written, not predictable, interesting and certainly short enough and neutral. ThomDevexx ॐ (talk) 02:50, 28 January 2017 (UTC)
