House of Frankenstein (film)
... that the film House of Frankenstein was so popular that it was played all through the night at the Rialto Theatre and then played for three weeks?Source: Mank, Gregory William (2022). Angels and Ministers of Grace Defend Us!. McFarland & Company. ISBN 978-1-4766-6553-5. Page 355- ALT1:
... that Film historian Gregory W. Mank declared that, on House of Frankenstein's premiere in New York City, critics "made mincemeat" out of it?Source: Mank, Gregory William (1981). It's Alive! - Interesting article. New enough (submitted within 3 days of promotion to GA status); lengthy (13231 characters of prose); well sourced with inline citations; neutral/balanced; Earwig says copyvio unlikely (only significant match is a direct quote from the New York Times, which is cited appropriately); AGF on offline sources. QPQ is done. So the only remaining issue is the hook. I don't think ALT0 works in its current state – I find myself wondering if it's meant ironically (i.e., so unpopular that it only played for three weeks and then no one wanted to see it anymore). Did we mean to say "played all through the night...for three weeks"? (Does the source say that?) With ALT1, we have the problem where we've now made a film historian with no Wikipedia article at the top of the hook. There are several ways to resolve this, including 1) creating a new article for Gregory W. Mank; 2) opting not to name him by referring to "a film historian" or equivalent. You could also try placing the main target for this hook toward the beginning of the hook, or toward the end, or both and see which one works better. - ALT2: ... that actor Glenn Strange was unaware that he was being called to play Frankenstein's monster in House of Frankenstein until he did a make-up test? Mank, Gregory William (1981). It's Alive! The Classic Cinema Saga of Frankenstein. A.S. Barnes & Company, Inc. ISBN 0-498-02473-3 page 135. Perhaps this as an ALT @Narutolovehinata5:?
- Approving ALT2 only. Confirmed the claim in the hook is in the article with citation; AGF on the offline source. Thanks Andrzejbanas! Cielquiparle (talk) 14:28, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
