  • ... that Hein Eersel (pictured) reportedly added "genuine Surinamese expressions" in his adaptation of the play The Barber of Seville? I'll review this if nobody beats me to it. I believe the hook needs to clarify that it's the play and not the more famous opera. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:02, 4 May 2022 (UTC)
Interesting life story, on good-looking sources, all in Dutch. The image is licensed and almost a must. The hook leaves him a bit in the theatre corner, but if that is what you want, fine. Please add at least "the play" to the Barber, because I believe that without saying so, people would rather think of the opera. - I have a few suggestions for the article which you can take or not:
  1. Someone who will only read the lead, or only the infobox, will miss a lot, - I'd expand both.
  2. "Wie Eegie Sanie (Our Own Things)" - no, the thing in the brackets is either a title in English, then italic please, or just a translation, then sentence case please.
  3. Taalbureau remains unexplained.
  4. NAKS appears without introduction, better full name also, and time of when the relation began.
  5. I'd put the Bible translation in chronology.
These will probably be handled by expading anyway. Please ping me when that is done. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:01, 4 May 2022 (UTC)
Thanks Gerda. I have updated the hook, and taken care of the first two points. I will ping once I update his linguistics work, as there is hook material there as well. Joofjoof (talk) 05:43, 11 May 2022 (UTC)
thank you, good enough already for DYK - I linked the play, revert if you don't like that --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:25, 11 May 2022 (UTC)
@Gerda Arendt and Joofjoof: I've added "reportedly" into the hook, if that's all right theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/they) 00:48, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
I'm not sure, -I believe this is a factual thing, not a critic's view. But I may be wrong. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:44, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
