In summary, good to go all things considered, in my opinion. Article length OK. Date OK. Article meets standards for citations, neutrality, etc. and doesn't have any other problems. Hook is correct length and format, and the citations are acceptable and support the material. I have a couple of points which I'll discuss below, but overall I'm going to pass this one.
A couple points. As to notability, there are several articles in the Birmingham News (a notable paper) which are substantially about this person, not just mentioning him in passing. So he meets the WP:GNG. I'm not sure that he meets WP:NMOTORSPORT, though: the ARCA Racing Series is described as "a minor, but professional, league of stock car racing, perhaps two steps down from the top-level NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and one step down from that series' minor league, the NASCAR Nationwide Series". Maybe it does meet the WP:NMOTORSPORT criterion of "Have driven in a fully professional series. A fully professional series is one where prize money is not trivial compared to the cost of the series", I don't know. Anyway, he's moving up. Granted, he hasn't raced at the higher level yet, so WP:CRYSTAL, but he's been formally accepted at the higher level, so that's something. All things considered, I consider him probably notable.
Now about the hook. A criteria here is that the hook has to be "interesting", and that's the sticking point. It's not very interesting. There doesn't seem much to say about this guy that I found, so I can't suggest anything else. I guess this is somewhat subjective, and I suppose it's of some interest to stock racing enthusiasts, so I suppose it's OK. Herostratus (talk) 17:32, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
