Review New enough, long enough, QPQ confirmed (not yet promoted, not required). Earwig is clear. No copy violations or close paraphrasing. Hooks are neutral and supported by the cited obituary.

I prefer ALT1 as being hookier. The Star Tribune article uses the word "flashed" which connotes his being first, but it actually doesn't use that word. We could also do hooks that include:

- ALT2 ... that Associated Press war correspondent George E. Bria wrote a first hand account of his viewing executed Italian dictator Benito Mussolini's naked body?

Which might be too tabloidesque. Can you say Daily Mirror? {:<{)>

- ALT3 ... that Associated Press war correspondent George E. Bria, known for his brevity as an editor, insisted that "the D-Day landings could be reported in 400 words"?
