Gambian literature

  • ... that there is a Gambian literature even though it has been argued that there is "minimal basis" for its existence? Source: Brown, Stewart (2014). "Gambian fictions". In Raji, Wumi (ed.). Contemporary literature of Africa: Tijan M. Sallah and literary works of The Gambia. Amherst, New York: Cambria Press. p. 19. ISBN 978-1-60497-867-4.

  • Article creation date versus filing date okay. Article length okay. Article neutrality and sourcing seem okay in general. No evident signs of copyvio. QPQ was done. Hook length okay, hook interest level is very good – I was intrigued to see what it meant. However the text and citing around the hook fact need a little attention. The book African literatures in the 20th century is available at OpenLibrary, see the entry on Gambia literature here. The author of the "minimal basis" quote is not Leonard S. Klein, who is the editor of the volume, but rather John Povey, who wrote this particular entry. And the date for the volume is 1986, not 1988. Wasted Time R (talk) 11:19, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for the detailed review Wasted Time R, hadn't noticed that the book was available there. It's odd that Brown's article has misattributed the quote. I have rewritten the sentence and added a direct source for the quote. --GGT (talk) 15:18, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
Okay, good to go. (But the 1988 in the text should be changed to 1986 as well.) Wasted Time R (talk) 20:31, 21 May 2022 (UTC)
Also done. --GGT (talk) 23:41, 22 May 2022 (UTC)
