• There are pictures out there, and since he died in 1902 they "should" all be PD, but the source pages also claim copyright, so I'm not sure how to reconcile that with pictures. Crow^Caw 18:17, 20 January 2015 (UTC)

• I'm not 100% comfortable on the copyright status of this picture, as its publish date is unclear, at least for now. I've inquired at WP:MCQ for the experts there. An alternate pic that can be used, if any at all, would be File:Ernest Cashel.png. I may just be over-sensitive, given where I spend my non-article time here, but I'd rather err on the side of caution than let a copyvio hit the MP. I'm on travel, so my availability is sporadic, so do whatever is appropriate. Thanks, Crow^Caw 17:41, 24 January 2015 (UTC)

• MCQ doesn't seem to want to touch this, so I'm changing the picture proactively just to be safe. If that pic is of unsuitable quality for the main page, then it can be removed and this run without one. I'm good to go with this now, if nobody has any issues. Crow^Caw 23:19, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
• One last note actually, since this have been here for a few weeks, as it happens we are approaching the anniversary of his hanging (Feb 2). If it makes sense, perhaps a hook like this can be run on Feb 2:

• ... that Ernest Cashel (pictured), who once escaped from a moving train by jumping out the bathroom window, was hanged on this day in 1904?
