Chao Mae Tuptim edit

  • ... that Chao Mae Tuptim in Bangkok is a site crammed full of wooden circumcised penis statues (pictured) which are said to endow good fortune and fertility on anybody coming into contact with them?

  • This article if factually incorrect and contradictory. In the beginning it says "Chao Mae" means "Penis Shrine", which is not correct. "Penis Shrine" is just what it is commonly referred to in English. Later on it says "Chao Mae Tuptim" is the name of a female tree spirit, which is correct. These statements are contradictory too. "Chao Mae" means goddess (in the sense of a spirit that watches over something, in Tuptim's case, trees). "Tuptim" is the name of this particular goddess, just as a German woman's first name might be Else. PumpkinSky talk 13:51, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
"Later on it says "Chao Mae Tuptim" is the name of a female tree spirit, which is correct." An expert in this then?♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:49, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
