  • Comment I think the article should be renamed and reframed to the "Kidnapping of Carlos Ornelas Puga" or Disappearance of Carlos Ornelas Puga" as he doesn't seem notable prior to the incident, and people who are only known as crime victims should seldom have their own biography. I support this. Article title has been fixed to "Disappearance of Carlos Ornelas Puga". Regards, ComputerJA () 18:08, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. We will have to change categories, the lede and maybe some of the body of the article as well. But just a question first to be sure of the notability of the event. Has the disapperance/kidnapping of this priest been widely covered in national media in Mexico? Regards, Iselilja (talk) 19:00, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
  • I changed the lead to properly describe the article. As for your question, my answer is "Yes". The kidnapping was covered by leading outlets like El Universal (Mexico City), Milenio, Proceso (magazine), La Jornada and El Nuevo Heraldo (an international Spanish-language newspaper owned by AIM Media Texas). There aren't more details of his kidnapping besides what is mentioned in the article, however. And I don't think the media will catch up on the story again until arrests are made. Tamaulipas authorities tend to downplay violence a lot. ComputerJA () 19:58, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
  • Article checks out: new enough, long enough and well sourced. The hook's fine, but I think it'd be more interesting if you add that he's still missing. DoctorKubla (talk) 10:48, 3 December 2013 (UTC)
Well, I didn't want to dictate the exact wording because it means someone else will have to review the hook, but I'd prefer:
  • ALT1: ... that Catholic priest Carlos Ornelas Puga was recently kidnapped by gunmen in Mexico, and his whereabouts remain unknown?
So, yeah, requesting new reviewer. To be clear, it's just the hook that needs to be approved, all other DYK criteria are met. DoctorKubla (talk) 08:45, 4 December 2013 (UTC)
  • Hook ref verified (I checked it on Google translate). Good to go. Yoninah (talk) 20:30, 7 December 2013 (UTC)
