Comment: Not sure of the best wording for this. Could be "...drains into two watersheds," "...discharges into two drainage basins," "...is a rare bifurcation lake," etc. Reviewer's choice.

Comment In the hook, watershed needs disambiguating. I presume you intend the North American usage of watershed, namely "is divided between two drainage basins". Alternatively following European usage, it should read something like "lies on a drainage divide". Edwardx (talk) 23:42, 6 September 2018 (UTC)

Overall: No copyright issues found with Earwig tool. The article's introduction mentions towns and counties that are not covered in the body of the article. The wildlife and conservation section is fairly large, and not summarized in the introduction. I will get back to you on the hook shortly. I want to think about some other options. As for the hook, how about:

ALT 2: ... that Bontecou Lake is a man-made bifurcation lake that became a protected breeding ground for waterfowl?
ALT 3: ... that Bontecou Lake is a man-made bifurcation lake that became a preferred breeding ground for great blue herons?

I think that bifurcation lake has more of a hook to it, as does the bird nesting. Also, stating the Town of Millbrook is not too catchy unless it's connected to something. Flibirigit (talk) 23:54, 2 October 2018 (UTC)

See supplementary rule C2:"Don't assume everyone worldwide knows what country or sport you're talking about." For that reason it is usually customary to include the location of a geographical feature the article is about, whether manmade or natural. Daniel Case (talk) 03:28, 3 October 2018 (UTC)

I'm fine with the "bifurcation" construction – it might be a little technical for general readership, but perhaps that'll entice people to click through! I will note that I've always been somewhat averse to hooks that attack from multiple angles. In my view, it's best to focus on one fact (in this case, the peculiar drainage) without trying to tack-on additional tidbits (birds). This relatively small county alone has 35 Critical Environmental Areas, so while the protection is notable enough to mention in the article, its inclusion in the hook possibly diminishes the real (imo) story – Category:Bifurcation lakes is populated by a mere 15 pages worldwide. I respect that opinion. ALT1 might be the better choice, or we could elaborate a bit and say:

That's fine with me, we can take out man-made. Seems like ALT4 is the preferred choice now. Do you have a moment to improve the introduction or lead section in the article? It mentions towns and counties that are not covered in the body of the article, and it does not summarize the wildlife and conservation section. Everything else looks good.
