Interesting park, written on good sources, Spanish sources accepted AGF, no copyvio obvious. I wonder if "opening" would be better than "establishment". In the article, I don't like "the most recently ..." because that may change without you noticing. I don't understand "The closest settlement is Uribia and Manaure and Riohacha are farther away", and don't know what the last line adds to understanding. - How about the attractive image? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:35, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
Good morning @Gerda Arendt:, thank you for the review. The most recently part refers to the latest addition to the national parks, which is not everyday that an area is added, but any suggestions to word it differently? I will expand on the settlements part with some maps to show the distances and location a bit better. There are no images of the park itself on Commons, will check Flickr or panoramio today to hopefully add a nice image as I agree that should be included. Cheers, Tisquesusa (talk) 12:46, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
Thank you for your thoughts. You might just say "recent", or - if you want to stay with "most recent" - state "(as of 2017)", otherwise I can see this in ten years still claiming the same, while hopefully more new parks will get established. The settlement sentence can be helped by a comma (or a "while"), to avoid saying ""The closest settlement is Uribia and Manaure". No rush, I will watch. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:23, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
@Gerda Arendt:, I've added the map of Uribia, with linkfixing to avoid redirects, the closest available (images on Flickr and panoramio are not with the right license to import them here and/or are also not of the park itself) image resembling the park's character (coastal, desert and bay) added, removed the farther away municipalities and rewritten the "most recent" part with the addition of 2017. The wording "establishment" I think is better than "opening", because the opening ceremony (images are on Flickr of that, but are not free) was not attended by the Colombian president; he signed the decree for the establishment of the park in Bogotá where he spoke those words. They are sourced actually by all the newspaper sources listed, if you like a translation of the Spanish sources (English sources are few compared to the Spanish ones), I can provide it. For the DYK nomination, maybe better to wait a bit; I am planning to finally write the Biodiversity of Colombia article, a long-desired article of the Colombia WikiProject and important enough (as second-most diverse country in the world) as other hook for the DYK. Will take some time to make it nice, but worth it imho. Tisquesusa (talk) 13:59, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
Thanks again. AGF means "assuming good faith", which I have. I'll wait a bit for an image, otherwise this is all set, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:58, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
Do as you like ;) - I'd have this now, and then a different hook for the new article, - my prediction is that the sum of attention is higher when on two dates (hopefully at another time of day) and not in a combination. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:38, 2 February 2017 (UTC)
Hi @Gerda Arendt:, you mean to say to remove the hook about the biodiversity and keep it as it was? And then another DYK for the biodiversity article? That needs to be withing 7 days after adding the content for the first time on Wikipedia, right? That was Jan 25, so yesterday the 7 day period ended? Or am I misunderstanding your consideration? Thanks again, Tisquesusa (talk) 14:34, 2 February 2017 (UTC)
Sorry, I missed that biodiversity was already created, but no problem, just today, so you have a week to nominate something for that one exclusively. Then, yes, keep this as it was. Clarify: once an article is nominated in time, there's no more limit, we can take all the time we need. A September nom appeared in January, for example. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:46, 2 February 2017 (UTC)
Thank you. I dropped "The" in the hook, because you would not say "the oil", but wouldn't mind readding if you feel it's not a good translation. In any case, the original Spanish might be good as a footnote. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:35, 3 February 2017 (UTC)
