  • @Awkwafaba: That QPQ doesn't count yet since you didn't carry out the review properly. Cielquiparle (talk) 16:07, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
@Cielquiparle: can you be specific? awkwafaba (📥) 16:30, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
@Awkwafaba: As long as we're clear that verifying for "copyvio free" and "sourcing matters" for DYK articles, not just for the hook itself, it's cool. (It's the "well sourced" part of WP:DYKI...with more detailed guidelines at WP:DYKCRIT) Thanks for your DYK submission and for participating in the QPQ process. • @Awkwafaba: I'm showing this at 1432 bytes readable prose size, just below the line, so it needs a little bit of increasing size-wise. No textual issues. The hook fact checks out. (Also, the 1996 data is incomplete.) A bit more prose is needed, and I'd like to see the 1996 lines filled out prior to approval. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 01:35, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
@Sammi Brie: that’s weird. DYK Check says “ DYK eligibility scan results: (See here for details.) Prose size (text only): 1727 characters (245 words) ‘readable prose size’”. As for 1996, the state only has county data for this century. I looked at WOW counties for their source and it only has percentages unless you pay. awkwafaba (📥) 02:23, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
@Awkwafaba: Wow, DYKcheck and Prosesize turn up different results totally. And Xtools says 1427. I took this to WP:DISCORD for some technical advice. I'd err on the side of it being too short. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 03:40, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
@Sammi Brie and Awkwafaba: I think the DYKcheck script may not be functioning as intended. When I copied and pasted all of the prose in the article into a sandbox, that script indicated that the article only had 1,316 characters of readable prose size. I am not sure why there would be a 400+ byte discrepancy in the readable prose size. Epicgenius (talk) 04:20, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
@Epicgenius and Sammi Brie: it is now over the threshold: Prose size (text only): 2044 characters (298 words) "readable prose size" VS. Prose size (text only): 1749 B (298 words) "readable prose size". I notice that the units are different, characters vs. B. awkwafaba (📥) 13:51, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
Approving. The Reddit primary source is I think acceptable here because it's clearly before any article in print media (I found one from April 2020, not October, and have updated the article accordingly). Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 03:55, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
