Andy Bor, Melissa Perrine edit

Created/expanded by LauraHale (talk), Riley Huntley (talk). Nominated by Hawkeye7 (talk) at 08:40, 24 October 2012 (UTC)

  • Both articles new enough, long enough, well-referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. The hook is catchy, but I don't see the hook fact in the article or the reference, which says he "shifted his role". Do you have another source that says he actually "gave up coaching" for Perrine? Also, the hook fact must appear in the Melissa Perrine article as well, with a citation.
  • Another question: There are 2 different sentences in the Andy Bor article that talk about when Bor first started skiing with Perrine:

1) He first skied with Perrine at a World Cup event in January 2010 where they finished fourth.

2) He first skied with Perrine in 2009 in competition at the IPC North America Cup in Colorado, where the pair finished second in the Super-G.

  • Thanks for clearing up these points. Yoninah (talk) 22:10, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
  • Hooked fact in article: "At the 2006 Winter Paralympics, Bor served as an Australian Assistant Coach. In 2009, following those Games, he shifted his role to serve as Melissa Perrine's guide as Perrine advanced further in the sport."
  • No contradiction. He first skied with her at the event in 2009. He first competed at a World Cup in 2010. One is first time, one is specific event. --LauraHale (talk) 00:22, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
  • (1) I meant that the hook fact must appear in BOTH articles. (2) I still don't see how "shifted his role" translates into "gave up coaching". Yoninah (talk) 10:38, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

ALT1: ... that Andy Bor was blind 2010 Paralympic skier Melissa Perrine's guide? Hawkeye7 (talk) 20:11, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

ALT2: ... that skiing guide Andy Bor helped visually-impaired skiier Melissa Perrine win medals at the 2010 Winter Paralympics by directing her with microphones and speakers? Yoninah (talk) 20:41, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
ALT2 sounds fine. Hawkeye7 (talk) 21:09, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
Thank you. As I can't approve my own hook, I leave it to another reviewer to finish up this nomination. Yoninah (talk) 21:43, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
ALT2 Hook looks to be confirmed by a citation that confirms that statement. 154 characters is short enough. Also interesting enough. Good to go. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:30, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
