General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: Yes - Offline/paywalled citation accepted in good faith
  • Interesting: Yes
  • Other problems: No - Suggest tweaking the hook to clarify this is a volcanic eruption.
QPQ: Done.

Overall: Very nice article. Suggest a good copyedit, as some sentences are a bit clunky (such as "warfare and other plights may have been contributed"), but should be okay to go once QPQ is completed. Craig Franklin (SLQ) (talk) 23:48, 18 October 2016 (UTC)

@Craig Franklin (SLQ): QPQ is in. Not sure if "eruption" needs to specify that it's "volcanic"; are there that many other kinds of eruptions? And the hook is fairly long already. I've changed that sentence, but I don't know where to ask for a quick copyedit. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 15:57, 19 October 2016 (UTC)
@Jo-Jo Eumerus:. QPQ now okay. My first thought from the line was an emotional eruption (like when your team wins the championships), but it's acceptable the way that it is. Lankiveil (speak to me) 12:30, 20 October 2016 (UTC).
