Musical
editIn the Wikipedia-article about Ethan Mordden it is said that he wrote a musical, in which he used this stuff. If this is right, it should be mentioned. --13Peewit (talk) 11:33, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
Pronunciation
editNeither the pronunciation of Beerbohm's peers, nor his correction, are the actual pronunciation of the name. This should be noted or the pronunciation note removed entirely. -71.205.151.116 (talk) 20:09, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
This is correct. Zulaikha is the Islamic name for Potiphar's wife and is pronounced not -ee- but -ay- (rhyming with hi!) Zuleika is Beerbohm's spelling variant. Derek Davis
Judas College
edit(Full disclosure: I started reading the book yesterday and am only abut a third of the way through.)
In the article it says:
"... her grandfather is the Warden of Judas College (based on Merton College, Beerbohm's alma mater)."
However, from what I have read it is pretty clear that Judas College is actually either Wadham or New - at least geographically. For example, the landau journey from the train station to Judas goes down Cornmarket and then Broad Street (passing Balliol, Trinity and the Bod). The only two colleges at the end of Broad Street are Wadham and New. If they had been travelling to Merton, they would not have gone down Cornmarket (and then turned into Broad Street) but from Queen Street just carried on down the High Street (and then turned into Oriel Square).
What is the source for claiming that Judas is based on Merton??? AlexAndrews (talk) 10:45, 20 June 2023 (UTC)
