Notability
editI realize that it might be tempting to start individual discographies of albums by your favorite artists (I'm a big Akeboshi fan myself). But standalone articles must meet WP:N and WP:NALBUMS with a demonstration of significant coverage by reliable independent sources in order to have a stand-alone page. Albums are not notable by virtue of their artist being notable, the album itself must receive coverage to be included. This is the reason why this article was never created (and why the other three were proposed to be merged). Unfortunately I overlooked this prop as it was several months ago. I'm reinitiating those too. --Kraftlos (Talk | Contrib) 08:31, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, according to the page you provide as justification, WP:Notability (music) states: "In general, if the musician or ensemble that recorded an album is considered notable, then officially released albums may have sufficient notability to have individual articles on Wikipedia" Scapler (talk) 12:30, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
- From the same paragraph, "Album articles with little more than a track listing may be more appropriately merged into the artist's main article or discography article, space permitting.". It's generally frowned upon to make separate articles unless there's more to say than an intro and a discography. --Kraftlos (Talk | Contrib) 03:10, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
