Specifications

This is essentially a simplified RPG2 without the copper cup and modified to fire out of a homemade RPG7 launcher. I believe the explosive is slightly less powerful and the explosion is still directed forward, but the lack of a copper stream makes the penetration essentially nil (lack of copper cup is probably because the explosive is not RDX). The comparison to RPG7 is flawed and the comparison to RPG2 should include the disclaimer that this is not a penetration weapon. In the video it seems the thing is made out of lightweight plastics instead of steel and launched by another PVC pipe (NOT a RPG7 or RPG2 launcher), I was surprised it did not explode in the launcher and take out the operators face. Propellant is ground sugar, sulfur and potassium nitrate packed into a plastic tube; warhead is some type of transparent Tupperware-like plastic cup which looks like part of the headlights of a car with the back of it being either steel or aluminium; judging by size of package and explosion, explosive is probably potassium nitrate + diesel + sugar and formed into a puck. I'm basing this on the video, the Jewish source website as well as a few hours in Google images. It is funny considering it would be ridiculously easy to make a weapon like this out of things one might find in their home. The real praise to Hamas is not on the design, which is very poor, but on the industrialization of the construction process and the cheapness of construction (ingredients would cost less than 10$ in America, probably ten times less in Gaza). Some improvements they should try is obtaining RDX from contacts in Albania/Kosovo/Bosnia or elsewhere in the middle east and placing in a copper cup to increase penetration. They should also experiment with a set of fins in the front and back to increase stability. Also, if RDX is hard to come by, it would be best if they could attach a standard fragmentation hand grenade, mine, or mortar shell to the front as it would increase damage against soft targets. 99.236.242.41 (talk) 03:49, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

Correct search link to Yasin

Can we correct the search database so that when one searches for Yasin: Yasin (disambiguation) comes up rather than this article? The most important and frequent usage of Yasin is the Qur'anic chapter Surah Yasin (under the article Ya-Seen).

What's the rationale behind the list of weapons under "See also"? It's certainly not a complete list of historical anti-tank weapons.

Sorry DKalkin, but you are over-reacting. The panzerfaust doesnt make anyoen think of nazis, its just a weapon. It's mentioned in russian and american web pages too. there is a direct connection between the history of the panzerfaust and other RPG weapons. This is rasism

yasin is a name not a rocket launcher, i go to school in ireland, and everyone is calling me a terrorist because of this. Please remove this article as it leads to rasism. This is just an informational web site about a weapon. Nobody is going to come up with racist ideas because of this. Anyway, a disambiguation web page has been set up. It is disappointing to see people trying to delete this page and its text and image because of some irrational, unwarranted fear or a desire to control what people see, but there's simply no racism here.
