A few notes

edit

Deleted Jeff Jarrett info as it isn't really relevent. If we were going to put that on the page we should probably make a list of people who have appeared on the show or at least some examples (e.g. names like Jeff Jarrett, etc. etc. have appeared on the show in the past). Also can somebody confrim that TNA TV deal with a source and link? As far as I know they are plannng a tour at some stage but that's it. Normy 00:23, 20 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

The Tour is off the charts (with the exception of an International Assult Tour). If you listen to the DCW Variety Hour, you know that every bit of new TNA Information on this site is 100% true and confirmed by TNA Management (not Backstage Gossip) Normy, start getting your facts streigh before you start accusing people of lying. You are clearly out of the loop.

I wasn't lying, I was just asking for confirmation. Normy 04:20, 29 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Pffft! The DCW Variety Hour is about as reliable as an AFL umpire being consistent! 61.68.140.26 12:18, 18 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Moving

edit

It is unappropriate to include Amature Stats on a page labled "Professional" So I have moved it to a new page to eliminate "Professional" From the title.

Okay, fair enough. Sounds good to me. Oh and thanks for finally giving me a source on that TNA television thing. I'll leave the issue be now. Normy 05:35, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

WWE vs. ECW special

edit

Just off the top of my head I don't think this is being televised is the United States, let alone Australia. I thought it was just a hyped up house show. Can somebody verify this? Normy 04:42, 28 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

USA Network is advertising it as is TBS I think in Canada and Sky Sports in England. Fox8 has released a press statement to the fact that they are trying to get broadcast rights.

Complete new article?

edit

I believe there is enough information on amateur and freestyle wrestling to make a completely new article out of it. I don't even know why I agreed that these two topics should be on the same article. They've been kept seperate on every other article so why should this be any different? Besides, it could start a trend to create pages about amateur and freestyle wrestling worldwide, similar to the situation with professional wrestling. Normy 06:02, 3 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

WWE Magazine

edit

Any ideas when WWE Magazine will come to Australia? The Holy Trinity of Sports Entertainemnt 11:07, 23 August 2006 OzEST

RCW/ANW-HRPW

edit

Please note that RCW is also known as Drug City Wrestling - and should not be added to the local promotions listing for this reason. Also it is the subject of much controversy between it and ANW-HRPW, and it would preserve the integrity of Wikipedia if it was avoided completely. It's why I haven't added HRPW. Curse of Fenric 23:11, 19 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

For the safety of the board and of Curse of Fenric and me, and so the subject is avoided, all references to RCW and HRPW have been removed from the talk page. Wackadoo Xanadu has been blocked for publishing legal threats by Durova, and the main page has been protected. On behalf of Curse, thanks Wikipedia! Mal Case 05:55, 3 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
whilst i respect this, the information regarding HRPW having a television show should be allowed. it is factual information, not opinion. also, they had a show way before IWA, and are close to reaching their 50th episode mark.Lynx Raven Raide 01:48, 14 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
I retract the edit summary. There was an edit war over this some time ago - and adding this information may start it again. Too risky. It must stay off. 124.180.186.49 03:13, 14 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
thats where article protections and reports come in. it is factual information, so it doesnt violate wiki rules, but vandalism does, and removing it would be concidered that. there is a lot of stuff that could be added to the article about wrestling in Australia, but BS arguments between fed prevents this, which is a pitty because we do have a strong scene here, just too fragmented.Lynx Raven Raide 07:37, 14 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Doesn't make sense

edit

"John Cena, Shelton Benjamin, Triple H, Big Show and Kane will be available with each character is depicted from the chest up."
This sentence does not make sense. Is it supposed to read:
"John Cena, Shelton Benjamin, Triple H, Big Show and Kane will be available with each character being depicted from the chest up." Roaming27 07:56, 5 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Current Media

edit

This page is not exclusive to Wrestling History. It as always and will always cover current wrestling media on TV, Radio and LIVE! WackadooXanadu 03:48, 25 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

No it won't - because that's advertising. !! Justa Punk !! 10:31, 12 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

PWA Melbourne Status

edit

I am reliably told that PWA Melbourne is not defunct. It is if anything in a hiatus as a promotion. It is still the head of the entire PWA structure that includes Canberra, Elite and Queensland. A friend of mine knows the owner and founder of PWA, and that person is still seen as the figurehead. Removing PWA Melbourne from the promotions list would be a slap in the face to his work. Mal Case 05:50, 25 March 2007 (UTC) I am currently investigating with PWA Management the exact official status of the promotion. WackadooXanadu2 06:15, 25 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Update Statement from PWA Administration "PWA Melbourne is not longer an active promotion. It finished up at the end of 2006. The talent in which we are using for our shows (Mad Dog and Champagne Pyro) are being billed from the defunct Melbourne promotion due to their history with the company and the PWA name."

AAW

edit

I am presently trying to investigate them and get some facts. At the moment, I agree with Mal and disagree with Rick Doodle. Evidence I have at present indicates that they have not been properly trained - but it may be best to wait for a response. Curse of Fenric 08:27, 30 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

And what's your source, Curse of Fenric? AAW is a pro fed. How do you know they haven't been trained properly? So are XPWA and NSWAE but I spose I need their websites so I'll leave that on ice. Rick Doodle 20:58, 30 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
XPWA and NSWAE do not use a proper ring and XPWA have the wrong attitude towards wrestling. That's backyard behaviour, Rick. And what do you call trained properly? Trained properly means trained by someone who has experience and the person AAW named is someone I have never heard of. Curse of Fenric 23:46, 31 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Have you seen the vids from their website? They're trained, man! I've seen worse on Raw, ECW and Smackdown! Rick Doodle 06:13, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Selected vids only, Rick. They don't make the full shows available. Ever wonder why? Just because they can do individual moves doesn't automatically mean they can wrestle. Curse of Fenric 23:27, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Live events section

edit

Does anyone else this this section is pointless in it's current form? What events qualify to be in this section because companies are running shows all the time in Australia and having only a select few mentioned seems silly. Cor84 04:26, 29 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
