I reverted to previous version because of poor grammar and unsupported assumption. Can you support your assertion that only black families contribute to the Hoodbridge moniker? Mmoyer 21:18, 11 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Potomac Mills edit

According to the US census bureau, Potomac Mills mall is not located in Woodbridge, the entire property is located in Dale City, Virginia. The Potomac Mills information needs to be moved to that page. Vinny (talk) 01:58, 23 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dumfries information wrongly placed in this article edit

Route 234 does not enter any part of Woodbridge, only Dumfries and Manassas. Why is it mentioned in this article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Notreallyhere (talkcontribs) 14:55, 25 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Harbor Station is completely in Dumfries

Pope John Paul the Great Catholic High School is in the Harbor Station development IN DUMFRIES.

I will come back and move these to the Dumfries article if there are no objections. Vinny (talk) 15:09, 25 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hoodbridge edit

Well I have a cousin who lives in what is actually Woodbridge, and that place isn't anything like a hood. It is a nice little suburban area, mixed with mainly black and white. And rather it's Hoodridge or Hoodbridge, it doesn't matter because that place isn't the hood, so nicknaming it, doesn't make it the hood.

Its not HoodBridge, its HoodRidge. I think before you claim to know what "youth" are saying, that you try to talk to one first. Please correct in the article.
Its called HoodRidge because many of the local gangs live in communities on hills/ridges, particularly the area in the hills above one of the elementary schools.
I've never heard anyone use the "hoodridge" moniker, until now. I've heard dozens of people say/acknowledge hoodbridge. Do a google search for both terms. --RA64 01:03, 18 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
I've been a Woodbridge/Dale City resident for 20 years and have never heard "hoodridge", only "hoodbridge". Therefore, in concurrence with RA64, I reject your anonymous reality and substitute my own! [grin] Mmoyer 03:39, 18 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
I am one of those "youth" who live in woodbridge and know it as hoodbridge. The only reason someone could call it hoodridge must be a refrence to lakeridge. And lakeridge is far from the hood, for the most part is the richy bitch area. Never heard hoodridge, but I know daleshitty and hoodbridge.
--Everyone I know calls it "Hoodbridge" now. I graduated from WSHS in 1993 and first heard Hoodbridge going around GMU around 2001. Never heard "Hoodridge". People are sick of the insane congestion and the increasing crime, so they gave it a proper name. PWC Police are now permanently stationed at our Giant. Even my parents have started calling this area "Hoodbridge". Took me 45 minutes to get from Lake Ridge to Potomac Mills yesterday. 6 miles in 45 minutes, got screamed at once passing through Dale Shitty, cut off twice and nearly hit by someone on the parkway.. accident at Minnieville, again.. It's Hoodbridge. 76.111.77.215 19:19, 15 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
People do sometimes call Woodbridge "Hoodbridge" and Dale City "Dale Shitty", "The Mini DC". Vinny 02:38, 22 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

The "Changes in the neighborhood" section edit

I think it needs to be deleted. It's nothing but a marketing tool and advertisement, and the fact that half of it is copypasted copyright violations doesn't help. -- ArglebargleIV (talk) 16:39, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure if I'd say that the section has "blatant" copyright violations, because some of the material is quoted, which is acceptable. But the section as a whole doesn't conform to style guidelines. I would recommend looking at the manual of style as well as WikiProject Cities' US city guideline for tips on improving this article. Dr. Cash (talk) 20:36, 27 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Whole paragraphs and sets of paragraphs, not just a few quotes, are copied from news articles and press releases -- in my opinion, those are blatant copyright violations. I agree, however, that there are style problems, and I would add content problems as well. -- ArglebargleIV (talk) 20:50, 27 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I agree that there are style problems, but I do not see a conflict of interest in any of the content, since all positive assertations are backed up by specific news articles or quotes from development or political officals. It seems written very "news style" ish and needs to be revised to fit into more of a wikipedia style. -- 08:23, 30 June 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.248.197.164 (talk)

Population change edit

I sincerely doubt that the population of Woodbridge has mysteriously dropped to 4,000. I also doubt that all five referenced zip codes have a mere 30,00 residents. This information is clearly wrong. 214.3.138.230 (talk) 19:00, 14 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

The census indeed says the population dropped that much. There could be reasons for that such as a change in boundaries. Scarlettail (talk) 21:25, 14 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
