The knockout championship will take place in November 2018, so there is a problem in naming these two world champioships of 2018.
I suggest to rename this article to "Women's World Chess Championship Match 2018", and to name the KO championship "Women's Chess World Championship 2018" (I started a draft article), as FIDE itself calls them with these names respectively in the calendar. Also the homepage of the official website of the match says "Women's World Chess Championship Match". Sophia91 (talk) 00:59, 14 August 2018 (UTC)
- If the knockout tournament page isn't too long I think it could be covered in this article. If that is unwieldy then you can do as you suggest. Quale (talk) 03:12, 14 August 2018 (UTC)
- Hmm, or Women's World Chess Championship Match 2018 and Women's World Chess Championship Tournament 2018 would probably better looking at the category of world championships. Or, as we know FIDE, we just wait, until they have rescheduled the ko tourney to next year citing a lack of sponsors :-).
- The championship will be in Khanty-Mansiysk, so a rescheduling is very unlikely. I doubt that the KO event will be indicated by the chess news websites by a name other than its official ("Women's World Chess Championship 2018"). In the case of the match both FIDE and chess websites called the event "Women's World Championship Match". I'm moving this page to "Women's World Chess Championship Match 2018" and creating the article on the KO event under the name "Women's World Chess Championship 2018". - More info for a move? There are 2 championships in 2018, how would you call them to distinguish the match from the KO? FIDE calls the match Women's World Chess Championship Match and the KO event Women's World Chess Championhip 2018. There is already the initial list of qualifiers, and also the dates are known. - I think these are appropriate titles also, as FIDE's calendar for World Events certainly shows these titles as Women's World Championship Match 2018 (match) and Women’s World Championship 2018 (tournament). - Seems like a good idea. Players are confirmed for the november tournament, so it likely will happen now :-). We should move this, to the fist suggestion, then create a dab on this page and create an article for the tournament. -Koppapa (talk) 18:41, 22 August 2018 (UTC)
In my opinion the articles should be Women's World Chess Championship 2018 (May) and Women's World Chess Championship 2018 (November). I think the current article titles are confusing, and give the impression of two different world titles, a "match title" and a "tournament title". Adpete (talk) 08:19, 10 November 2018 (UTC)
