The witch-burning scene starts with a date being shown, Friday, August 13th. According to the main Wikipedia article, the first series of Blackadder starts in 1485. According to the present article, this episode was set in 1495 during the Black Plague. However, the article on the Black Plague states "The Second Pandemic was particularly widespread in the following years: 1360–1363; 1374; 1400; 1438–1439; 1456–1457; 1464–1466; 1481–1485; 1500–1503; 1518–1531; 1544–1548; 1563–1566; 1573–1588; 1596–1599; 1602–1611; 1623–1640; 1644–1654; and 1664–1667". According to one search engine, August 13th fell on Friday in 1490. August 13th 1495 was a Thursday. As 1496 was a leap year, August 13th 1496 fell on a Saturday.
